On Tuesday, June 27, at 3 p.m., the Lexington Public Library will hold a discussion of Art Chansky’s book, “Game Changers: Dean Smith, Charlie Scott, and the Era That Transformed a Southern College Town” (2016).
The book focuses on the civil rights changes that long-time University of North Carolina basketball coach Dean Smith; Charlie Scott, UNC’s first African-American athletic scholarship recipient; and college athletics helped bring to Chapel Hill, the state of North Carolina, and the South.
The discussion is open to the public and is free of charge.
