A Great Start!

We had a wonderful kick-off to our fall ministries on Sunday! It started with a meaningful early worship service in the Fellowship Hall. Followed by a nice fellowship time put together by our Education Ministry Team. Two new Sunday School classes were added to our regular offerings for adults and children: one for the choir in the library, and another for adults which met in one of our classrooms upstairs in the administration building. (I promise the A/C will be fixed for next week!). All our classrooms were full of eager disciples! Then our 11 a.m. worship service in the sanctuary welcomed back our choir and was enhanced with a special musician and participation by many church members. It was a good day! I encourage you to invite your non-churched friends to join you in worship for next week!

On another note: We are one of over 110 churches in Salem Presbytery. Four times a year, pastors and elders from each of these churches meet for worship and to attend to the work of the Presbytery. Our next meeting is Saturday, November 12th, and the four Presbyterian churches in Lexington are joining together to host this meeting. The meeting will be held in our building, and members from all four churches will be providing volunteers. Our church is responsible for the following volunteer jobs:
4 - Greeters
1 - Kitchen volunteer
2 - Parking Direction Volunteers
2 - Registration volunteers
1 - Lunch ticket volunteer
2 - Nursery volunteers 1 - for am shift; 1 for pm shift
2 - Elders to serve Communion
We are also in need of donations of breakfast type finger food for the refreshment tables.

If you would be willing to help out in any of these areas, please let Jeanna know by calling the office as soon as possible.

I look forward to the many exciting things that are scheduled for our church this year and hope that you will make plans to participate in them all!

Grace and peace to each of you.
Your friend and pastor,
Pastor Lee
