Traditional Worship Service

Our Classic Worship Service is held in the Sanctuary at 11:00 a.m. each Sunday, from the second Sunday in September through the first Sunday in June. Sunday School for all ages meets prior to the Classic Service, at 10:00 a.m.

From the second Sunday in June through the first Sunday in September, First Presbyterian operates on a summer schedule. A single worship service is held each Sunday in the Sanctuary at 10:00 a.m. during this time period, with Sunday School at 9:00 a.m.

The Classic Service lasts approximately one hour.

Dress for our Classic Service is business casual.

  • Children ages birth through two years may be taken to the Nursery (second floor, education wing). Nursery coordinator Macie Anderson will care for your little ones with assistance from volunteers within the church family. Children may be picked up from the Nursery at the conclusion of the worship service.
  • Children ages three years through Kindergarten are invited to join us for the initial portion on the worship service. After the "Children's Time at Worship," if there at least two children from this age group present, the children may leave the service in the company of adult volunteer for Kingdom Kids. Following the service, parents may pick up their children from the Preschool area (first floor, education wing, at the end of the hall, past the elevator).
  • Children and youth older than Kindergarten are invited to remain in the worship service with their parents.

Parking for First Presbyterian is available in our parking lot at the corner of South Main Street and East Third Avenue (across Main Street from the front of the church), in the parking lot of the former Arts United (across West Third Avenue from the church's side entrance), in the parking lot of Lanier's Hardware on the corner of State Street and West Third Avenue,, and along Third Avenue and South Main Street.

Please note that the parking lot directly behind First Presbyterian, which borders State Street, belongs to our next-door neighbors at First United Methodist Church. We thank you for being respectful of them and refraining from parking in their lot.
