Worship Service Survey

The Worship Survey is now closed. Thank you all for your feedback.

In an effort to strengthen the overall worship life of the congregation, the Session has formed the Worship Service Action Learning Team to engage the congregation in discussion about our Worship Services and Christian Education and to make recommendations to the Session. You may complete the survey by filling out a paper form (available at the church office). Thank you for helping make our Church all it can be!

Cookout on the Lawn - June 26

We're having a cookout on the lawn on Sunday, June 26, immediately following the morning worship service. We'll be serving up hamburgers, veggie burgers, and hotdogs fresh off the grill, along with baked beans, chips, dessert, and your choice of tea, lemonade or water. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket and plan to enjoy some summer fellowship!

If you plan to join us for lunch on June 26, please let the church office know by June 19.

*If it rains, we will dine indoors instead.

    208th Army Band in Concert

We are pleased to have the 208th Army Band with us in concert again this year. They will join us on Saturday, May 28 at 7:00 p.m. in our sanctuary, presenting an evening of patriotic and sacred music.

Based in Concord, North Carolina, the primary mission of the band is to promote the espirit de corps of U.S. fighting forces, and to serve as a goodwill ambassador throughout North and South Carolina.

As we seek to remember those who have given the ultimate sacrifice to preserve our freedom to worship God, we encourage you to join us and bring a friend or two. There is no cost, and the concert is open to everyone, so invite a friend!

Time and Talent 2016: My Commitment to God's Mission

With the arrival of Spring comes a fresh opportunity to commit your time and talents to the work of First Presbyterian Church for the 2016-2017 church year as we seek to “Call people to faith, Develop them as disciples, and Send them to serve.” We ask that everyone complete and submit the “My Commitment to God’s Mission” survey. Printed copies of the form may be obtained from the church office or downloaded and printed from our website here, or you may fill out and submit the form online by clicking here. Please note that the Personal Discipleship Plan at the end of the survey is meant for your own use and does not need to be submitted to the church office with the rest of the form. Our thanks to each of you for your willingness to serve.

She is a delightful presenter, and all are welcome. The catered dinner costs $8 per person. Please contact Carol Beck, Susan Whitesides, or Rebecca Sullivan to make a reservation.

Touching Davidson County with Love 2016

This day of community outreach will be April 16, 2016. Two project leaders from First Presbyterian are still needed. T-shirt orders are being taken through March 14.

A bulletin board for project sign-ups will be put in place soon outside the fellowship hall.

If you are interested in volunteering, need more information, or would like to order a shirt, please contact Jeff Davis.

Collection boxes will be placed in the Narthex and lobby of the church.

    2016 Winnie Green Scholarship

The Session and the Endowment Ministry Team of the Session would like to invite eligible persons to apply for a grant from the Winnifred Zimmerman Green Higher Education Scholarship Fund.

The Scholarship was made possible by a generous gift from the estate of long time member Winnie Green to aid "worthy students of high academic achievement" with their college expenses.

The Session has established the following guidelines for the awarding of grants. (Click on "Read More")
